Professional Biography
Michael Saba is the Surety Practice Lead at YA Group, bringing more than 50 years of experience in surety — both contract and commercial — fidelity, subcontractor default insurance, and claim management. Michael has held senior management positions with major surety companies and consulting firms, directing and personally handling numerous construction defaults, and participating in mediation, arbitration, and litigation of disputed performance and payment bond obligations. His responsibilities have spanned project supervision, negotiation, contract relet, and advising on claim settlements.
Michael has extensive experience assisting clients with claims investigation and settlement, takeover and completion of defaulted contracts, forensic accounting, payment bond claim analysis, delay claim analysis, scheduling, accounting audits, and project management. He has also provided litigation support and served as an expert witness across a wide range of matters.
Having consulted on virtually every type of surety claim imaginable — including projects of substantial complexity and scope — Michael brings a commanding depth of knowledge across both the investigation and completion sides of the surety equation, making him a trusted resource on even the most challenging claims.
