Professional Biography
Philip Palermo is a Mechanical Estimator and Senior Director, NYC at YA Group with more than 15 years of experience in the mechanical side of the construction industry. Approaching seven years with YA Group, Philip focuses on a variety of mechanical trade estimates with a unique specialization in sustainability initiatives and decarbonization plans for universities and municipalities. His experience across a wide range of construction segments has given him a deep understanding of design and construction from multiple vantage points, enabling him to creatively address complex challenges while accounting for the needs of various stakeholders.
Philip has extensive experience across roles including Sales Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Mechanical Estimator, Applications Engineer, and Project Manager, having supported projects ranging from $10,000 to over $1 billion in construction value. His career has spanned a diverse range of organizations and markets, including Carrier Corporation in Los Angeles, LaBella Associates in Rochester, PJ Dick in Pittsburgh and Baltimore, BAC, and Tudi Mechanical and Tri-R Mechanical across Tampa and Buffalo.
Philip began his career with Carrier Corporation after earning his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California. He subsequently earned his MBA in Melbourne, Australia, broadening his expertise both academically and through international experience. His combination of technical depth, broad industry exposure, and cross-sector project experience positions him as a versatile and solutions-oriented resource on complex mechanical consulting engagements.
