Professional Biography

Michael Fryar is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), Registered Nurse (RN), Certified Case Manager (CCM), and Certified Life Care Planner (CLCP) at YA Group with over 25 years of experience in vocational rehabilitation, consulting, and case management. He is also a registered Qualified Rehabilitation Professional (QRP) through the North Carolina Industrial Commission.

Mr. Fryar holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and dual Master’s degrees in Rehabilitation Counseling and Vocational Evaluation from East Carolina University, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. He also earned an Associate Degree in Nursing from Sampson Community College and completed a 120-hour post-graduate training program under Dr. Paul Deutsch.

His clinical experience includes serving as a Rehabilitation Charge Nurse for the brain injury, spinal cord injury, and general rehabilitation units at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.

Mr. Fryar is actively involved in professional leadership. He is Past Chair of the Rehabilitation, Transitions and Disability Case Management (RDCM) section of the International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals (IARP) and a current member of the RDCM National Board. He previously served as Secretary of IARP’s National Forensic Board and was appointed to the IARP Education Subcommittee.
