Professional Biography
David “Scott” Gossett is a Senior Consultant at YA Group with more than 40 years of experience in the construction industry. Scott began his career in construction in 1981, developing tradesperson skills across roofing, framing, drywall and insulation, custom millwork, and plumbing. At YA Group, he provides construction consulting services across a wide variety of loss scenarios including catastrophic events such as wind and hail, fire, and water-related losses affecting residential, commercial, institutional, military, high-end residential, and multi-family properties.
Scott has extensive experience in new construction, interior and exterior renovation and restoration, exterior building envelope systems, and estimating for both residential and commercial projects. In 2005, he founded his own general contracting company, where he managed all aspects of ownership, project management, and field services — performing residential remodeling and commercial tenant build-outs for professional offices and restaurants.
Scott joined YA Group in 2020, bringing a well-rounded field and management background to his consulting practice. His hands-on construction experience across multiple trades, combined with his general contracting background, gives him a practical and thorough foundation for assessing physical property damage and project estimating.
