The YA Group meteorology team is comprised of Certified Consulting Meteorologists (CCMs) who are recognized by the American Meteorological Society (AMS) as the industry’s most thoroughly vetted professionals in subject matter expertise and ethical standards. Our meteorological professionals not only support our engineering and architectural staff with site-specific meteorology evaluations on a daily basis but also continue to contribute to the scientific community through published work and presentations. Our CCMs are leaders in the scientific evaluation of severe convective meteorology (hail, tornadoes, etc.) as well as high-impact precipitation events. We rely on cutting edge analysis techniques and decades of industry experience to solution some of forensic meteorology’s most difficult challenges.
State-of-the-science investigative meteorological techniques are used to deliver our clients the most accurate solutions relative to their project needs. Publicly provided, automated meteorological solutions only offer “black box” solutions, and their providers do not stand behind their meteorological findings in legal proceedings. YA’s Certified Consulting Meteorologists (CCMs) not only offer solutions leveraging both automated and manual analyses, but our experts stand behind our findings should the project end up in a courtroom. Our meteorological professionals investigate a wide range of weather-related losses ranging from hail, wind and precipitation events to analysis of hurricanes and tornadoes. We also occasionally lend our expertise to assist in more exotic and complex investigations including condensation of water on electronics, calculation of snow accumulation on roofs and analysis of radiative balance.
