Professional Biography
Brittany Vild, CPA, CFE is a forensic accountant with over 10 years of experience in public accounting, forensic investigations, and litigation consulting. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in the State of California and a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
Ms. Vild provides forensic accounting and damages analysis in complex litigation and insurance matters, with a focus on economic loss analysis, financial investigations, and the preparation of analyses and reports for use in disputes. She has experience analyzing economic losses affecting both individuals and businesses, including personal injury and wrongful death damages as well as business‑related financial losses.
In addition, Ms. Vild has performed business interruption and extra expense analyses on behalf of insurance carriers, related to property damage losses. Ms. Vild has also analyzed numerous employee theft claims on behalf of insurance carriers, involving expense reimbursement schemes, inventory misappropriation, fraudulent billing, and unauthorized disbursements. As part of these engagements, she evaluates internal controls, identifies control breakdowns, quantifies losses, and provides recommendations for corrective actions and control improvements.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Vild worked in the audit practice at PwC, where she audited clients across multiple industries, including biotechnology, telecommunications, retail, and scientific research. Her experience included internal controls testing and walkthroughs in accordance with SOX 404 for a Fortune 500 company, as well as documenting findings and assessing deficiencies.
Ms. Vild has authored and co-authored numerous expert reports and has testified as a forensic accounting expert witness in San Diego Superior Court.
