Biography

Marissa Villarreal Smith is a Senior Consultant with over three years of experience in building consulting, property assessments, and project management.

Marissa is a valued member of the Building Consulting team at YA Group.

She has supported and led work across condominium, commercial, multi-family, and residential projects, contributing both field expertise and analytical insight to the firm’s assignments. Her early experience restoring three residential properties provided a practical foundation in construction methods, material performance, and project execution. Her degree in design further strengthens her ability to evaluate structures within their architectural context and clearly communicate technical findings.

At YA Group, Marissa plays a key role in estimating, scope development, and project coordination. She regularly leads field inspections, manages project workflows, and supports and/or oversees complex technical tasks. Her background also includes work on legal files, where she compiled technical documentation and analysis for litigation and trial preparation.

She holds IICRC certifications in Fire and Smoke Restoration (FSRT) and Water Damage Restoration (WRT), as well as a HAAG Commercial Roofing certification. Marissa has also contributed to multiple catastrophe (CAT) event assignments across the country—including hail, tornado, and hurricane losses—building a strong foundation in damage evaluation under high‑stakes conditions.
