Kienan Dalesandro

Senior Project Manager

Biography

Kienan Dalesandro is a Senior Project Manager with extensive experience in forensic evaluation, failure analysis, and condition assessment of structures across residential, commercial, industrial, institutional, and heavy civil sectors. He is a valued member of YA Group’s Construction Consulting team.

Kienan specializes in investigating builders risk claims and assessing damage involving a wide range of construction types and materials. His forensic engineering expertise includes evaluation of transportation structures, parking facilities, and bridges. He routinely investigates structural damage caused by vehicle impacts, wind and tornado events, foundation movement, and tree impacts. Kienan also has experience assessing the effects of snow accumulation and related structural failures, as well as evaluating building envelope performance under diverse weather conditions.

A significant portion of his practice focuses on building envelope investigations, particularly water intrusion through roofing systems and façade assemblies. His experience includes detailed evaluations of low-slope membrane roofing, steep-slope assemblies, and wall cladding systems such as brick masonry, stucco, and composite facades. These investigations often involve causation analysis, failure reconstruction, and development of practical, durable design solutions.

Kienan’s background in structural design includes bridges, transportation structures, multi-story residential and commercial buildings, and remediation of existing structures using wood, steel, concrete, precast/prestressed concrete, and masonry. His combined experience in design and failure analysis provides a comprehensive perspective for diagnosing damage and developing effective structural and envelope repair strategies.
