Biography

Josh Shields is a Senior Regional Building Consultant in the North Texas and Oklahoma area. Josh joined YOUNG & Associates in 2021 and has more than 28 years of experience in the construction and insurance industries. He specializes in evaluating scope of losses, estimating, and project management. Josh has been involved in the evaluation of disasters caused by water, fire, flood, hurricanes, tornados, wind, and hail. He has consulted on large complex insurance losses including schools, malls, high-rise hotels, high-rise office and condo buildings, apartment complexes, manufacturing buildings, refineries, and multi-building corporate campuses. In addition to consulting on property loss claims directly, Josh is also actively involved in mentoring and assisting other consultants in his region to help ensure the highest quality work product for our clients.

Josh’s background covers a wide spectrum in the construction industry including work as a project manager for a national home builder, custom home builder, petroleum pipeline and processing facility construction manager, and construction consultant. His varied experiences have provided him with a balanced perspective and in-depth knowledge to assist in evaluating losses and reaching mutual agreements in scope and cost for the repair process.
