Biography

David Zelm has been operating drones professionally since 2017. He currently leads the Drone department at YOUNG & Associates, including establishing all operating procedures, training, and deliverables for other employees. When David originally began his professional career in Drone flight, he intended to be agriculture focused, providing crop health analysis and yield estimates. After a short stay in this field, he was recruited by a North Dakota based company to conduct wind turbine inspections by drone all over the country. David has also worked as a contractor for Northrop Grumman, Eagleview, and Siemens Gamesa. In 2019, David became certified as a Level 1 Small UAS Thermographer. He now conducts regular inspections on insurance losses, using infrared and drone technology to help show unique and otherwise impossible images following different catastrophes.
