Biography

Ryan Alms is a seasoned firefighting and public safety professional with nearly 20 years of dedicated service in fire department operations, and a valued member of the YA Group construction consulting team.

Ryan’s expertise spans fire suppression, hazardous materials response, rescue, EMS, fire investigation and prevention, and more. He also possesses deep knowledge in fire administration, equipment and budget management, public relations, and the enforcement of policies and regulations. Throughout his career, Ryan has demonstrated strong leadership in planning, organizing, and directing fire service operations, as well as developing corrective action plans, safety manuals, and employee training programs to enhance performance and minimize risks.

Ryan is recognized for his ability to improve fire and rescue operations through data-driven analysis of accidents and injuries, policy development, and continuous process improvement. His strong interpersonal skills enable him to collaborate effectively with volunteer firefighters, municipal leaders, key stakeholders, and community members.
