Reconstruction and Litigation of Motorcycle Collisions
This course provides an overview of the reconstruction and litigation of motorcycle collisions, including motorcycle classifications, licensing requirements, and applicable traffic laws. Participants will examine helmet laws, lane sharing, motorcycle equipment standards, and statistical trends involving motorcycle fatalities. The course also explores motorcycle design characteristics, including rake, trail, wheelbase, and seat height, along with the various types of motorcycles commonly encountered in crash investigations. Attendees will gain an understanding of motorcycle dynamics and performance factors such as leaning, turning, braking systems, braking efficiency, obstacle avoidance, and rider response during emergency maneuvers. The presentation concludes with a question-and-answer session designed to reinforce key concepts related to motorcycle collision investigation and litigation.
