Earthquake Damage Assessment – 2 ce
This course will help clients (i.e., insurance adjusters and attorneys) understand the effects that earthquakes have on various types of structures and will discuss methods of differentiating pre-existing and/or other property damage from earthquake-related damage. The course includes a brief overview of earthquake science including general concepts such as lateral movement, measurement scales, and material science. The course will include strategies for determining the overall scope of property damage, methods of repair vs. replacement, and best ways to deal with these types of claims through use of industry-adopted guidelines used by civil/structural engineers. The presentation will also include real-life case studies.
