Biography

Dustin Wells is a project controls professional with over 12 years of hands‑on experience in developing, maintaining, and analyzing complex construction schedules. He is a valued member of the consulting team at YA Group, where he specializes in converting intricate project scopes into actionable, resource‑loaded schedules that drive on‑time delivery and reduce risk.

Dustin brings deep technical expertise across a wide range of construction types, ensuring accuracy and clarity in schedule development and oversight. His experience includes commercial and high‑rise projects requiring multi‑trade coordination, industrial facilities with long‑lead procurement and heavy civil components, large‑scale residential developments, and renovation or retrofit projects with extensive constraints.

Throughout his career, Dustin worked across corporate and retail programs, gaining extensive experience navigating diverse contracting strategies. He supported projects under lump‑sum contracts by maximizing efficiency to protect margins; under cost‑plus and time‑and‑materials structures by tracking detailed labor and material resources; and within design‑build and integrated project delivery environments by fostering close collaboration between designers and builders to accelerate schedules. He also conducted complex claims and forensic scheduling analyses, including Time Impact Analyses (TIA) and delay forensics to support stakeholders during disputes.

Dustin is highly proficient in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and Asta. He focused on proactive schedule development—identifying the critical path early and preventing delays rather than simply recording progress. His core competencies include baseline schedule development and maintenance, resource and cost loading, earned value analysis, delay analysis and claim mitigation, and risk assessment and mitigation planning.

Whether supporting owners, general contractors, or subcontractors, Dustin provides the analytical rigor and clarity needed to keep complex construction projects on track.
