Dan Lizak

Biography

Dan Lizak is the Director of General Construction Estimating at YA Group, bringing more than a decade of hands-on leadership experience in the construction industry. Dan leads general construction estimating efforts with a focus on accuracy, collaboration, and continuous process improvement. He is known for his analytical mindset, strong communication skills, and commitment to helping clients achieve their vision on time and within budget.

Dan places a high value on integrity, accountability, and clear coordination among owners, designers, and project teams to drive successful project outcomes. Dan’s background reflects a lifelong connection to construction, a strong operational foundation, and a passion for delivering accurate, high-quality results for clients.

Dan began working in the field at a young age within his father’s construction company, gaining early exposure to building systems, craftsmanship, and day-to-day jobsite operations. He continued working in construction while earning his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University at Buffalo, developing a solid grounding in communication, leadership, and organizational behavior skills that continue to shape his professional approach.

As operations manager for one of Western New York’s largest residential construction companies, Dan oversaw thousands of projects of varying size, complexity, and cost. This role strengthened his expertise in construction management, scheduling, budgeting, and client coordination, while deepening his technical knowledge across multiple building systems and delivery methods.
