Biography
Charles Maike is a multidisciplinary technical expert with over 20 years of experience in automotive diagnostics, low-voltage systems, and prosthetic manufacturing. As a Senior Equipment Loss Consultant at YA Group, he applies his broad mechanical expertise to assess complex systems and equipment failures.
Charles began his career as an ASE- and Honda-certified automotive technician, specializing in diagnostics, emissions, and HVAC systems. He later transitioned into low-voltage A/V and networking installations before moving into prosthetics manufacturing, where he spent 16 years as a senior technician and composite fabrication specialist.
In prosthetics, he led fabrication efforts, managed advanced machinery, and supported clinical teams with custom device solutions. He is also a dedicated educator, mentoring students through partnerships with Kennesaw State University’s P&O program and volunteering internationally to support underserved communities.
Outside of work, Charles is the lead technician and driver for an endurance race car team and remains passionate about motorsports. His hands-on approach, technical versatility, and calm under pressure define his work across all disciplines.

Representative Consulting Assignments
- Led a complete overhaul of prosthetics fabrication workflows by integrating and maintaining advanced composite layup techniques, 3- and 4-axis CNC milling machines, and 3D printers. Reduced production turnaround while maintaining clinical precision and improving device quality.
- Provided prosthetic fabrication, adjustment, and education to underserved populations in partnership with local clinics and international aid organizations.
- Developed and led hands-on lab experiences for Kennesaw State University prosthetics students. Provided instruction in composite fabrication techniques, vacuum lamination, and machinery operation.
- Oversaw preparation, diagnostics, and emergency repairs for a competitive endurance racing team. Engineered performance upgrades, and managed mechanical reliability during multi-day events.
- Diagnosed and repaired complex issues on high-performance and hybrid vehicles using factory diagnostics and emissions testing protocols.
- Co-Founder of Activate Sports LLC, a company dedicated to developing adaptive sports equipment that empowers athletes of all abilities. Currently leading the design and engineering of a high-performance wheelchair specifically built for obstacle course racing, combining durability, agility, and athlete-centered innovation.
